Agapanthus 'Midnight Blue' (syn. Agapanthus campanulatus 'Midnight Blue')

Description

Compact, slightly later, deciduous Agapanthus, blooms with medium-sized flower heads with violet-blue flowers with a white base on the inside and dark violet-blue on the outside, the anther purple-violet.

Origin

1976 Phillip Wood. This low dark blue and deciduous Agapanthus was grown from seed that Philip Wood obtained from South Africa. The introduction was done by the Donard Nursery nursery in Northern Ireland.

Inflorescence

20 flowers with a diameter of 1.5 cm, flowers are violet blue with a white base on the inside and dark violet blue on the outside. Anther is violet purple.

Is often presented in the trade, grown from seed, make sure that you buy a vegetatively propagated specimen, seeded specimens do not always have the same characteristics.
