| Oorsprong | Known since 1878 in France, 1885 in England, and 1888 in The Netherlands. Most likely discovered in France, as E.-A. Carrière (1880) wrote concerning a plant grown by M. Godefroy-Lebeuf, Argenteuil, France, and accompanied his next mention of the same plant, in 1882, with a line drawing (zie figuur). The plant was listed by nearly all fin de siècle nurseries that offered Agapanthus, for a rather cheap price compared with other cultivars offered. Still in cultivation, especially in collections, and readily available commercially, at least not rare. |

Ietwat vreemde bladhoudende Agapanthus, met dubbele lichtblauwe bloemen en brede bladeren, beschutte standplaats nodig. Is dubbelbloemig! Een soort voor de verzamelaars! De knoppen gaan niet altijd open, maar als hij dat doet is het de moeite waard. |
