Agapanthus 'Delfts blauw'

Description

New variety with particularly dark purple flowers. This color is called 'Dark'. The darkest of the entire range. Flowers on long sturdy flower stems. Is an 'inapertus' species, i.e. with hanging flowers. These characteristics make this plant so special. Beautiful deep purple-green flower buds. Is typical an 'Inapertus' species that we can deduce from the typical hanging flowers. The flower stems to which the flower heads are made can grow 1m -1.5m high, the flower heads are dark violet, the individual flowers are tubular and hanging (hence 'hanging Agapanthus').

The inapertus species are sometimes referred to as the 'Dragon Mountain' Agapanthus because they occur naturally in the grasslands around the Dragon Mountain in South Africa.
